ERNST & YOUNG NAMES ORMED PRESIDENT A FINALIST FOR 2005 ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR®

EDMONTON, CANADA: Ormed Information Systems has learned that president and CEO Chris Sherback has been named a Prairies Region finalist in the Technology category of the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® awards.

"There is a great wealth of entrepreneurial talent in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, and these men and women bring countless benefits, both economic and social, to the industries and communities in which they operate," said Barry Munro, award program director for the Prairies region. "We are proud to promote and celebrate the spirit, drive and incredible success stories of our Prairie entrepreneurs."

Canada's most prestigious business awards program considers nominees in a number of business categories before selecting finalists. The award recipients will be announced September 29 and will compete for the national honour of Entrepreneur of the Year to be announced in Ottawa on November 3. From there, it's on to the World Entrepreneur of the Year (June 2006) competition.

The Entrepreneur of the Year awards honour entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, risk taking, company development, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

Submissions are reviewed by an independent judging panel comprising distinguished Canadian business leaders and previous award recipients.

Other finalists in the technology category are Stephen Verhoeff of CSI Wireless Inc. (Calgary) and Raj Narayanaswamy and Lakshmi Raj of Replicon Inc. (Calgary).

"It's an honour to have been nominated and shortlisted," said Sherback. "This tribute is equally a credit to Ormed's staff, board of directors, shareholders, and loyal clients, all of whom have contributed to the organization's success."
