ORMED CTO APPOINTED TO E-COMMERCE STANDARDS BOARD

EDMONTON, CANADA: The recent appointment of Ormed Information Systems CTO and Senior Vice President Dale Gregg to the Healthcare Standards Task Group governed by GS1 continues the company’s drive to aid the healthcare industry in achieving the undeniable efficiencies and cost-savings of e-commerce, president Chris Sherback said today.

GS1 is a global organization dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions that improve efficiency and visibility in supply and demand chains globally. Its Healthcare Standards Task Group is charged with establishing and implementing EDI communication standards across the healthcare industry, and comprises a broad spectrum of healthcare stakeholders, including portals, providers, suppliers, and government.

“We are extremely honored by Dale’s appointment to this timely committee,” said Sherback. “His appointment is a testament to his knowledge and experience in e-commerce, and the contribution he can make to improving supply chain management practices and standards across the broader healthcare sector.”

In addition to leading the development and implementation of Ormed’s e-commerce, supply chain, finance, human resources, payroll, business intelligence, and systems management software solutions for healthcare since 1991, Gregg has invented streamlined key business processes that enable organizations to reduce administration costs, increase efficiency, and achieve higher levels of productivity.

Gregg is a sought-after speaker who addresses healthcare executives about the impact and value of adopting e-commerce in single and multi-site hospitals, group purchasing organizations, and health regions. He recently completed the HSCN Supply Chain Road Show, a three-city tour sponsored by Rogers that put him in front of healthcare audiences in Halifax, Calgary, and Vancouver, as well as the National Healthcare Congress in Florida. He will be an e-commerce panel member during the HSCN Supply Chain Conference in Toronto April 27 to 29, 2008.
