ORMED SENIOR VP AWARDED BY GS1 CANADA

TORONTO, ON: Dale Gregg, Senior Vice President at Ormed Information Systems Ltd., was honored this fall by GS1 Canada in recognition of his work and support for the Canadian Healthcare Supply Chain Standards project. Carenet amalgamated with GS1 Canada in 2008 to standardize and promote internet connectivity in Canada to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and ultimately save organizations money. A plaque was awarded to Mr. Gregg at the Carenet Healthcare Standards Council meeting on October 20, 2009.

As a member of GS1 Canada (and a supporter of GS1 in the United States), Ormed is listed as an approved solution provider with Carenet and is helping bring those set standards to greater acceptance with more transaction sets and more capabilities. “Supporting Carenet is one of the easiest steps an organization can take to help move the supply chain marketplace to better cost-effectiveness and efficiency,” says Gregg.

With Carenet’s support, E-commerce awareness in the healthcare marketplace has been raised significantly, benefiting all organizations looking to automate their business practices and capture long term savings.

“Historically, healthcare has been slow to adopt new technology, but thanks to initiatives like the Canadian Healthcare Supply Chain Standards project from Carenet and GS1, and thanks to the support of organizations like Ormed and many others, hospitals and healthcare centres everywhere are realizing real benefits that go right to the bottom line.”

All Ormed software complies with every standard set by GS1. Ormed’s current goal is to create standards around electronic invoicing, payments, receiving, and reconciliation.
